Royal Caribbean Is Turning Its Entire Fleet Into World Cup Watch Parties This Summer
Royal Caribbean will broadcast every FIFA World Cup 2026 match live across all 29 ships from June 11–July 19, with pool deck screens, sports bars, and themed watch parties.
Soccer’s biggest stage is coming to North America this summer, and if you happen to be at sea when the action kicks off, you won’t miss a single minute of it. Royal Caribbean has announced it will broadcast every FIFA World Cup 2026 match live across all 29 ships in its fleet from June 11 through July 19 — transforming cruise ships into what may be the most unique viewing venues on the planet.
According to Royal Caribbean Blog, the line will air matches through the Sport 24 television channel, feeding live broadcasts to stateroom TVs, pool deck screens, Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade locations, ship theaters, and other public spaces throughout the fleet. That means whether you want to catch the game from the privacy of your cabin with room service in hand or stand shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow fans at a rooftop bar overlooking the open ocean, the option is there.
Every Match, Every Ship, No Exceptions
What makes this announcement noteworthy is the scope. This isn’t a selective rollout to newer ships or a “select itineraries” situation — Royal Caribbean says every ship in the fleet will carry the real-time broadcasts with no compromise on viewing quality. For a fleet of 29 vessels sailing simultaneously across the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe, and beyond, that is a meaningful operational commitment.
Passengers who want to go beyond live viewing can also purchase internet packages and use Royal Caribbean’s Starlink connectivity to stream highlights, follow live scores, and share reactions on social media. The line is also planning tournament-centered onboard activities alongside the broadcasts, including viewing parties, themed food and beverage offerings, and fan-focused programming that will vary by ship and itinerary.
More Than Just Onboard Entertainment
Royal Caribbean’s World Cup involvement extends well beyond its ships. The line has stepped up as the Official Miami World Cup 2026 Host City Supporter, partnering with the local Miami Host Committee. A major activation is planned at the FIFA Fan Festival Miami at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami, where every match will be broadcast on giant screens alongside entertainment and fan experiences. Royal Caribbean is also a sponsor of Inter Miami CF, adding another layer to its soccer footprint heading into the tournament.
Why This Matters for Summer Cruisers
The 2026 World Cup runs for 38 days — nearly the entire peak summer cruise window. Anyone booking a Caribbean or transatlantic voyage between mid-June and mid-July has historically faced a real tradeoff: go cruising, or stay home to watch the tournament. Royal Caribbean is explicitly trying to eliminate that dilemma.
For soccer fans who have been putting off a cruise because of the scheduling conflict, this changes the calculus entirely. And for travelers who weren’t planning around the World Cup at all, stumbling into an onboard watch party on a pool deck at sea is the kind of spontaneous, shared experience that people talk about for years.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 opens June 11 and runs through July 19, with matches hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
